Birdbox by Josh Malerman

If you thought the movie was thrilling, the book is SO MUCH BETTER!

Birbox is another book that creates fear from the unseen. In this story, we never see or know what these monsters look like. This unseen fear creates such an anxious connection & highlights how survival instinct can overtake empathy or trust. It poses the question to the readers: Do you think not knowing what the monsters are makes them scarier than if we had seen them?

This book also makes you questions morality when it comes to survival. We see Malorie make difficult choices as she experiences motherhood. She removes the emotional piece by calling them “Boy” and “Girl” vs their names. She questions how good is the life she is bringing children to and questions if survival is worth it?
